In order to optimally integrate new photovoltaic systems into the existing power grid, the current renewable energy law in Germany (EEG) has allowed grid operators to temporarily reduce the output of systems above 100 kWp since January 1, 2009. To do this, operators send a ripple control signal through the grid directly to the generator to reduce system output when necessary. Sunways offers the Sunways Power Control Box CAN for photovoltaic systems connected to Sunways NT and PT series inverters networked through a CAN-bus interface. The Power Control Box can be directly accessed by grid operators and allows them to regulate system output.
